I am a 43 year old with 18 years of experience working in this field of Nursing . I live in the city of San Francisco but I also spent a lot of time in my other apartment in the East Bay ( El cerrito City ) due to work and having a family members as well . I am a Licensed vocational Nurse (LVN) and a certified nursing assistant ( CNA) as well . I work with people with different types of disabilities and injures . And I have worked in several hospitals in San Francisco and in the East Bay as well. I am bilingual , I speak English and Spanish and i own my car . I am a 61 year old lady and an older mom with a daughter (16 yrs) and son (23 yrs). I've been doing caregiving for over 20 years. For the last 2 1/2 years, I worked with clients with Alzheimer's and I feel very comfortable in working getting their needs met, while helping them feel safe and reducing anxiety. With becoming a caregiver, I had just finished my first semester of R.N. school when my mom and first husband both died of cancer (25 days apart) and I was needed to care for my father as his grieving made him unable to care for himself. I then, to assist me with my own grief, started to help care for others, first with hospice, then went on to caregiving for people in their homes. I love caregiving because helping people (especially older folks) brings joy and comfort to me. The trust that clients and families give to me is humbling and rewarding. Again, working with clients who have Alzheimer's takes a special place in my heart, but I love helping anyone in need.
