Frankly, I sort of fell into caregiving many years ago. I have learned to appreciate life more through family and clients ,e.g., attending a school dance with an autistic client and aiding in their enjoyment and advancement in social circumstances, getting someone housebound out to shop, get their hair done, or just sit under a beautiful tree at the park and eat lunch. In caregiving and hospice situations, not only the clients have had positive experiences, I have too. This work has taught me what is best about myself as well as others.
