About Robin

I grew up on a dairy farm in Escalon, California under the tutelage of my father, who was a mentor to me; he taught me to tend to all the animals in sickness and in health, with his sense of compassion and commitment. I learned responsibility early on in life, which carried over into my caring for my older sister who was mentally handicapped and subject to seizures as well. Later in life, both my father and mother would succumb to the ravages of disease: my father to Alzheimer's/Dementia, Diabetes and Emphysema, and my mother to cancer and as a result I came back home to tend to their needs and wishes. I came away from these experiences with the realization that one person can make a difference; it's like that adage that to the world you may only be one person but to one person you may be the world. What I like most about caregiving is the reward of making a considerable difference in someone's life; contributing in a positive way and perhaps relieving some of the burden if only for awhile and giving the client a feeling of worth and a sense of dignity and, in turn, giving me a sense of family. I love my family. I have raised a beautiful and strong daughter I am so proud of and I take consolation in the fact that I cared for both of my parents to the end. I have a family of friends that have stood by me, a wonderful home and a loving husband who is always there to support me. As a caregiver, I get the opportunity to give something back,..to pay it forward.

I began my caregiving career as a skilled CNA in a nursing home at the Care Center in Oakdale. Once I perfected my skills and with the proper work-methods, I resumed my work ethics at Oak Valley Hospital in the Rehabilitation Center; and was promoted by The Director of Nursing to a RNA position ( Restorative Nursing Assistant) working directly with professionals such as PT, PTA, Speech Specialists, RNs and Doctors. It was my absolute pleasure to see my patients regain their health and return home to loved ones. With my acquired experience and knowledge, great compassion and kindness, I became an independent caregiver and have worked as a private caregiver for over 15 yrs. I love what I do. I have met many wonderful clients and family loved ones; and graciously, I have received many letters of recognition. Through my caregiving process, I have worked diligently along side Hospice, applying my nursing skills to bring comfort to dying patients. My goal is to bring a quality of life to my clients with much joy and with a compassion filled with gentle kindness.
