I became a caregiver beacuse since I was 3 years old I have had it in my heart to take care of anyone who was sick, disabled, or just needed a little extra help. As I got older I realized that my true calling was careing for the elderly, beacuse growing up I never had grandparents of my own. I felt a piece of me was missing, not being able to have that experience myself. In other jobs that I've had I really enjoyed the interactions that I had with the elderly people that I can in contact with, such as just listening to there stories of how times were when they were growing up and even the war stories from the veterans that came in as well. Just the little time that I spent with them made my day and showed me a slight insight into what I was missing out on not having grandparents. I also enjoined going to the convelesant hospitals to vist those who did not have family or friends to come and jus spend some time with them for the holidays or just because. After that experience I knew that careing for and catering to the elderly was my calling and something that I wanted to do as my career. I am most proud for my children and try to do all that I can to make their lives that much more than mine ever was.
