About Angela

Hello, My name is Angela Alvarez. I've been a CNA for almost two years now and I'm currently studying to become a Nurse. I would consider myself a friendly, passionate, organized, ambitious and driven individual who always tries her best to accomplish her goals. My primary goal as a CNA is to ensure that my patients receive the proper care and respect they deserve. I first became interested in the Nursing field at the age of 12. I was in the 5th grade when I saw my little sister in the NICU for 9 days. It was amazing seeing the nurses provide the care. Looking at the wall of stories children wrote thanking them. The picture of how small they were and grew to become big and strong. As I got older I felt I would be too emotional and scared to handle loosing an such a small child. But, I still wanted to make a difference. I never had my grandparents and always felt like I was missing that love and companionship which is what switched me over to work with the elderly. I can help them as much as they help me. I never liked history in school but hearing my residents talk about their time in world war 1 and world war 2 fascinates me and actually motivated me to try harder in school. A lot of time the caregiver is more than just that; we become family. We see them more, we get to know what they like and don't like, what makes them happy or helps them calm down. It is an amazing bond and job.
