About Melesimani

I became a caregiver because I felt I can relate to the work and everything associated with it having grown up in my extended family living with my grandparents, assisting them around the house and when we go to church or other social functions. I helped with their meals because my grandmother was blind at the age of 65. I love being a caregiver because the help and care I provide always reminds me of my own grandmother and how I looked after her. In my experience I love the relationship I have with the client and family, for that matter, as I love working with people, especially those that really need help, assistance, and companionship. Nursing a client from an almost serious condition towards health and healing e.g I remember one client at the age of 97 had shingles and with extra care and dedication on my part, and co-worker she pulled through. I am a dedicated worker, friendly, trustworthy, and very sincere. I am very understanding and easy to get along with. I also love doing crossword puzzles, going to the movies, and learning new things (i.e. good useful ones). I am not an expert cook but can follow instruction without problem.

I cared for her mother, Antonina Giganti - I started with her in January 2010 or 2011 when she was 96 years of age, as a live in at her home at San Carlos, CA. My duties included assisting her with her bathing, dressing, and fixing her meals, and doing laundry. I also took her to her appointments, lab work, and grocery, and outing when necessary. As her dementia advanced I learned to adjust and cope with the changes associated with it.

Her son, would visit once a week leave petty cash for the groceries which I managed but keeping record and receipts. Her other son also visited. I believe I began working for her in May 2006 until about Oct 2010 or 2009 when the family had to move her to a facility
