I have 4 years working experience as a caregiver with different individuals of varying needs and assistance ranging from people living with dementia, some discharged from hospitals needing mild help with simple chores, as well as hospice registered clients. I have attended to seniors living in retirement homes on a floor assignment schedule, attending to more than 5 people on a shift, helping with showers, toileting ,changing diapers, transferring some using Hoya lift, brushing before bedtime and helping with general clean up. I am also well acquainted with the importance of taking records of a client's daily activity as well as carrying out general body check for anything unusual on his body. I have helped escort clients for medical appointments or just taking them for walks or exercise. I have shifted clients with relatively heavy weight with either a Hoya lift, use a board or belt. I am always aware of being respectful of a clients privacy and never to forcefully offer my help against client's will, I try to arrive atleast 10mins before my shift time to allow myself time to settle instart my duties. I always adhere to seek the guidance of my supervisor (s) in before engaging in any other activity outside my jurisdiction.
