What makes me a great caregiver is that I am loving, caring, respectable, honest and compassionate towards everyone that are under my care and even those who are not. People are my passion and for this I am so grateful. I became a caregiver because, after raising my own children I thought what a better job to have with making my heart smile and making me feel good inside, to take care of people who are unable to take care of themselves. Assist in 24-hour care for a married couple who are at the advanced stages of Dementia. I prepare their meals, which consist of breakfast, lunch and dinner, take the couple grocery shopping, and any other errands they may need to run during the time of my stay. I assist with light housekeeping, such as; clean refrigerator, stove, microwave, all countertops, bathroom floors, sinks, sweeping of kitchen floors and light dusting whenever needed. I walk with the couple to their neighborhood market, and enjoy walks around their neighborhood. The wife and I do sit-ups together in their home. Daily Reports are called in with regard to the couple’s routines blood pressures, medications and their well-being. – Worked part-time, full-time and 24-hour shifts.
