I got into the field of helping people because I feel that is my calling. I feel a void in my chest if I go for very long without contributing my time and energy to those who need it. In my experience working in group homes, vocational rehab and psychiatric facilities I have been able to hone my skill set which allows me to enjoy the work that I do. I have master level patience when it comes to challenging situations. I believe every person I work with equally deserves my calm and collected patience and the right to their independence with every detail that comes with every day. I am proud of my achievements at the Oregon State Hospital. Over 6 years I became certified in Collaborative Problem Solving, Motivational Interviewing, I spent hundreds of hours in the classroom learning about Autism, Trauma Informed Care and Peer Recovery. I also graduated from the Aspiring Leadership Academy. As much as I value my experience working in challenging situations, I pride myself at being an activity professional. Be it playing cards, going on walks, cleaning or just sitting and talking about the good ole days. I cherish the opportunity to make each day as great as possible.
