I think what makes a person a great Caregiver is someone who had compassion and respect for those they take care of. I'd like to say I fit in that category! My first experience of taking care of someone and all their daily needs was my grandmother. She was fighting cancer and the last month to her passing it was my mom, aunt, uncle, brother and I taking care if her in shifts of 12 hours. It really opened me up to wanting to be more there for other people. It's also what inspired me to become a registered nurse. I love everything about being a Caregiver. Sometimes it's not an easy job, but I always imagine putting myself in the families shoes because of what happened to my grandmother. I'm most proud of the fact that I'm doing so much with my life. I know when I finish my schooling to become a register nurse I'll be able to do so much more.
