Hi. My name is Pam Daniels. I have been happily married for 16 years and have two kids, ages 12 and 16. In December, I am hoping to enroll in a night program to become a Nursing Assistant. I am excited to start a new career. I am looking for a chance to make a difference in someone’s life. Most of my current “paid” experience is in an office environment. In 2008 my Mom passed away from Adeno Cystic Carcinoma. It is a rare disease that started out some 20 years ago in her parotid gland. Around 2006, I was fortunate enough to take breaks from work to help take care of Mom. I say helped because I think it’s important that she still felt independent. I helped her bathe, cook, clean, supported her as she walked with a walker. She sometimes used a wheel chair. I also took her to Dr.’s appointments. One of the most important things for me to do was to visit with her. We would talk, read, watch T.V., or just relax. When she felt up to it we would go outside and watch the hummingbirds in the sunshine. I’m sorry to make this such a long story but I feel it’s important. I don’t have “paid” experience, but I do have patience, compassion, and the love for other people. I also believe that we should all treat others the way we would want to be treated.
