I, chose to be a caregiver for many reasons. But, the main reason was my grandfather. He has dementia and with time he needed someone to watch over him 24/7 so it was hard to trust someone with your family member and have someone else care for him. After daily visits, I seen how the caregivers would pay so much attention to them. I'm talking about details such as grooming, hygiene, making sure he's dressed nice and comfortable, making sure he eats and stays hydrated. I was stoked and interested in this field that I decided to give it a try. Everyday I go to work and greet my residents with a smile and get them going with their day. There is so much love to give!! Lets just put it this way, I treat my residents just like family. Just like I want my grandpa to be taken care of. I love my job. "IF YOU CAN DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR SOMEONE ELSE, THEN DO IT"

What made me become a caregiver was when my dad was in a recovery home and a patient next to him had no one to visit him and he was so sad. He said to me, "I wish I had a daughter like you".
