My Adopted Mother

My adopted mother was a foster parent of 50 years who had rheumatoid athritis and extreme cardiac problems. Many times her joints would freeze up and she was bedridden for months. I helped her take care of foster children in her home as well as cooked, cleaned, bathed her, and gave her medications during those times she couldn't get out of bed. I had first hand experience of caring for a loved one and readjusting my life to help. In 2006, she died in her sleep aftwr going into cardiac arrest post heart surgery. I was 22 and living on my own but stayed in home to care for her after surgery.
