I have been a caregiver for 11 years, I started my career volunteering bingo at atria and as soon as I came of age I applied and trarted truly being able to care for people in need . After a year as caregiver I was promoted to medication technician where I have been for the past 10 years . Even tho my job title has changed the care provided is still quality. I was trained to promote independence at every opportunity, that has stuck with me. It's important to promote independence and preserve as much of the patients dignity as humanly possible. It's never easy accepting help and it's my job to make sure any patient in my care feels safe and has a high self esteem .
