I became a caregiver because I love being able to help those that may not be able to help themselves. I am passionate about speaking up for others who may not have a voice. We (the general public) are currently temporarily able bodied (TABs as my Disability and Society professor would say). It gives me the greatest pleasure in being able to assist others in performing their activities of daily living. I am positive, organized, friendly and patient. Patience is something I value and for some, it is hard to come by. To be an empathetic caregiver, I need to be able to meet my client where they are at. I am not afraid of silence. I do not expect a response right away. Formulating a response once took half a second; but for some of my clients, they could still be processing my question. I enjoy building therapeutic relationships. I have been described as friendly, and I put my best foot forward in everything I apply myself to. I am proud to have graduated from Loyola University Chicago's Nursing Program. I am a permanent resident of San Diego, CA. I do not only want to care for clients in the hospital. I believe the home health setting is an important link for families. In addition, better client outcomes are achieved when they are in a setting they are comfortable and familiar with.
