I describe myself as a people person. I find creating a rapport and connecting with others is one of my strengths. I care about the quality of life that elderly people experience and appreciate how supportive, compassionate care makes such a difference to a person. I became a caregiver because as an educator I feel satisfied when I see I have made a difference in the life of another person. I have acquired much wisdom and apply a very tolerant and accepting attitude to others. With patience, empathy and sensitivity I take time to ensure that a person's dignity and need to maintain their independence, within the bounds of personal safety, are one of my main considerations in caregiving. My proudest moment was winning the state diving championships when I was 11 years old! I am a very proud parent of a 17 year old boy who has grown into such a delightful young man and is on his way to UCLA. I am from Australia and became a resident of San Diego in 2010. My background is in Physical Education. I am versatile, a great communicator and able to deal with emergencies competently. In sports classes there were situations where I was the first responder to injuries and I do hold current First Aid, AED and CPR qualifications. My qualifications and experience provide me with knowledge and experience in nutrition, exercise supervision and recreational pursuits. I am creative, musical and have a great sense of humor too.
