I've been in health care for over thirty years. I am a licensed care provider through the state of California Board of Vocational Nurses and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT). My official title is a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT). My primary experience is in mental health, although I have experience as a private home nurse. I have worked with one client for over ten years caring for a quadriplegic male. My license allowed me to provide to conduct procedures, such as wound care, outlined in the scope of practice for an LPT. I also have the ability to administer medications, such as injections, with the direct order from a licensed physician. With my knowledge of mental heath issues, i am well qualified to provide care for clients that are in a state of dementia or have Alzheimer's. Being a Caregiver, has given me the personal satisfaction as a nurse, to see clients respond to excellent care. Families, as well as friends of the recipient, have given me outstanding references regarding my abilities and dedication. I would to mention an achievement that i experienced with my private client. In the ten years that I worked for him, he was able to complete a degree in social work and establish himself in the social service community.
