I think what makes a great caregiver is someone who can relate to someone in need, be aware of what someone is feeling or going through and be able to comfort them in that time of need. Also, to be the go between the doctor and patient, to bridge that gap with support and comfort. I chose to be a caregiver because I felt it was my calling, I felt I would be good at it and I felt like I could be that comfort for the patient, and to make a difference in someone's life, make it a little more livable. I ultimately am going to be an RN and get my bachelors and felt this was a great way to get experience and test my skills. I have completed my caregiving certificate through At Your Home Family Care and am a current home health aide employee. I also work as a CNA at Fredericka Manor Care Center in Chula Vista. I am a current volunteer with Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest in the Emergency Room Department. I have also completed my CNA certificate along with my Phlebotomy Technician and EKG Technician certificates, and am CPR and BLS certified. I am still applying to nursing schools.
