I became a caregiver because I know what it is like to have an elder become sick and struggle to watch them when you have a busy schedule yourself. I experienced it in high school with my grandmother and watched her slowly slip away in a matter of 2 years after my grandfather passed. Experiencing that made me want to help others because it is a emotional and stressful journey trusting people you do not know with the ones you love. I believe my personal achievement I am proud of was overcoming that experience and becoming better and not bitter. Because of it, I decided to go into the medical field to learn more about the body.
