I love spending time with the older generation, hearing their stories & watching them smile, as they're sharing w/ me. I moved to San Jose from Las Vegas, where I was a self employed housekeeper. The best traits I have that makes me a great caregiver are: compassion, empathy, patience, kindness, thoughtful, joyful, caring, honest, sincere & genuine. Most people would say that I have a good heart. Although I'm not an expert in these areas, I do know a little and willing to do things such as: diabetes, wound care, cancer, arthritis, hospice, stroke, wheelchair transfer, bathing, dressing, cooking, laundry, bathroom assistance, medication reminders, light housekeeping, running errands and going to doctor appointments, all by way of family members and friends having such, as well as, clients that I've cared for. I know how to leave my personal life separate from my work, as I strive for a future that I can look back & be proud of. The personal achievement that I'm most proud of myself for, would have to be, being selected, by 24HR Home Care in Santa Clara, as caregiver of the month for October 2019, after only three months employment. *Currently, I have no vehicle , I'm trying to save to for one - I do have a way to and from work, I do possess a valid driver's license and a clean good driving record. I don't mind outings, am willing to drive you in your vehicle or accompany you via VTA to where you need to go. My kids are grown and moved, I'm divorced, and caregiving is my way of replacing my need to nurture. Animals are okay. Long ongoing daytime shifts are preferred, full time would be perfect. Somewhat negotiable on the pay rate. *I am registered with California State Caregiver Dept expires May 25, 2021. *Recent TB test NEG late Sept 2019 *CPR / First Aid / AED certified via 4HR hands on training Oct 2019. *I have a hard copy of my most recent background check in Sept 2019, clearing California and Nevada.
