I am a 51 yo woman with 20 years medical experience primarily in a Physicians office. I had the pleasure of obtaining a position for an Alzheimer patient in her home for 3 1/2 years, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences i have had. Being able to work one on one for this lady, give her the companionship and care that she needed and make her feel safe was very meaningful indeed. We shared stories about our families, meals, outings, music on her patio. I became very close part of her family and also had two or three other relief assistants as well who i managed and scheduled on a weekly basis. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to be an integral part of her daily care and well-being, she was a lovely woman. I am a very down to earth individual with special skills including one on one compatibility, intuitive knowledge of a patients concerns, and able to acquire resources within the community to make for easier transition and continuity of care.
