About Chef Sunny

In pursuing my true passion of working with food and people, I have graduated the Culinary Arts & Hospitality Program with Honors from SBCC and shortly after having graduated, my Uncle was diagnosed with Alzheimers. I moved down to Ventura, CA to assist my Mom with caring for him for the last four years and developed a love for caring for those who need assistance in caring for themselves. Patience, understanding and compassion are the most important when caring for our loved ones and our patients. I enjoy working and developing recipes that cater to special dietary needs, as I realize that if meals do not taste good and look good, you won't enjoy it and that is tremendously important when having to be on special diets. I also try to use fresh, organic and local products whenever possible, as those are the best when caring for our bodies and to help us meet our goals. I have many certifications that I can provide you copies of that are from the Culinary Industry, including my Culinary Certification, ServSafe Food Handling Certification, Sustainable Seafood and Hotel & Hospitality Certifications that I am not able to provide through the site, but happy to provide upon request.

Home Health Aide & Hospice Care

Jun 2018 - Aug 2018
Private Employer
I was hired by my client to help care for her 93 yr old mother suffering from Alzheimer's. My client's father had just passed away two weeks prior, and at the time, none of her 4 siblings were there to assist her. Her mother was just entering the end stages, though when I first started, she was still mobile on her own and was still experiencing a lot of lucid moments, and would share special stories with me about her family immigrating from Italy just before she was born. She will always have a special place in my heart, even though our time together wasn't very long before she passed. To me, this is what's most important, when caring for someone else, making sure they know someone is there that really cares for them, that they can trust. Which also allows me as a Caregiver to do my best job on their behalf as well as for the person who's hired me, to have feel confident that their loved one is fully being cared for in their absence.

I am a very genuine person with excellent listening and communication skills. Strong ability to anticipate peoples needs and accommodate them. Raised two beautiful children while also taking care of my aging mother until she passed. I am a people person and feel deeply for the aged and those who are not able. I enjoy helping people whether it be to feel better, or preparing meals or giving them independence through mobility. I've traveled the world and lived overseas for 20 years, graduated from University, landed great jobs, had my own business, but my most cherished achievements are my amazing children.
