My name is Leah, and I am a 23-year-old college student. My favorite activities involve the outdoors, reading, writing, art, providing care to those around me, learning languages, taking walks/hikes, playing with pets, and visiting with my family. Over the past ten years, I have gained substantial experience in the childcare and healthcare fields, working with individuals of all ages. I also have extensive experience working with special needs, seniors, and the differently abled. I have worked as a caregiver (I am registered with the HCA) for more than five years. I love helping children/people learn and grow at every stage of their lives. I consider myself a great caregiver because I work exceptionally hard to provide the highest level of care to anyone that I interact/work with. Getting to know the personalities of those that I care for/know, and helping them find/relive their passions in life is incredibly important to me. My strengths are that I am responsible, creative, reliable, and caring. I give everyday my full effort, and keep an optimistic outlook on life. I love being a caregiver because it gives me great personal fulfillment to help/care for those that I work/interact with. I put the needs of those that I care for, before myself, and that is my preference. I am passionate about furthering my career in this field, so that I can continue doing what I love and being a part of the development and progression of individuals and families in my community. A personal achievement that I am very proud of is my dedication to volunteer work. I have spent many hours working in hospice, with people of all ages. I started at the beginning of high school (my freshman year), and it is something that I still take part in when time allows, and the need is there.
