Hello my name is Danielle Smith I have been a caregiver for over 18 years I started my caregiving career as a certified nursing assistant working for the Lompoc hospital district Growing up I always wanted to help others I really enjoyed being around the elderly as a companion and caregiver I really enjoy listening to their stories their very interesting you can definitely learn a lot from them The reason why I wanted to become a caregiver is because growing up my mom was in a wheelchair she was paralyzed from the waist down so she was unable to walk my whole life I seem the obstacles she went thru so I always told myself when I get older I would really enjoy helping others Helping others and being there as a companion gives me the most joy in life the appreciation of others during difficult times makes my life more meaningful
