I started taking care of developmental disabled adults when I was 15....as I got older the love grew stronger, because I felt I always has something to offer. Elderly males and females love attention. ...so incorporate that with activities with assistance at the same time your giving the person to be self sufficient. Help with interacting with other seniors like playing cards, games and more. You want them to fill like we're a big happy family....most of all I have patience....my mom has dementia so I know how the mood shifts ...memory loss,short and long term. With that this had taught me even more. I show love...kindness...respect , and you must give all their privacy. Teach them new things I like to crochet. ...maybe others would like to learn.
