Being Filipino, we take pride in taking of our family and loved ones. The Reason why I became a Caregiver is mostly due to the influence from my mother. She was in the Medical field and she shared with me the benefits of being in this chosen profession. The great things that I have learned and admire about being a caregiver is that you have a direct impact on the lives of your clients. At a time in their life when they are unable to do certain things for themselves, it is you, the caregiver, who can make a direct impact in their day-to-day activities. In regards to "personal achievements,' for me, it is not just "one thing." It is a "culmination" of many things I have contributed over the years taking care of clients. The greatest compliments I have received was when a clients would say that they are "thankful" for me helping them and being courteous, kind as well as being professional. In the years that I have been in the medical field, I have been an integral part of a "Team." Although my one-on-one interaction with my clients is a Daily one, working with Charge Nurses and your coworkers together makes a big difference in a client's experience while they are being cared for. Punctuality, professionalism, kindness and courtesy is what I hold as part of my philosophy in the years that I have been in the Medical field. I believe these traits are handed down from my parents because they provided a strong backbone in how I act with others when I started my 'working'
