I love working as caregiver/medical field because I have so much love and compassion for people that is how I suceed in what I do. I realize there is some many rewards and gifts in this line of work. What I enjoy the most is meeting people and hearing about their life and experiences they have live, because everybody always has a unique story to tell. The joy you bring to their lives and the appreciation they feel. The most personal achievement I am most proud of was opening my own successful Adult Assisted living for 4 mental ill adults at 24 years old and having no idea how to run a business. I was well known in the community and was respected by the licensing committee for my excellent work. I kepted that Assisted Living open for almost 10 years. Having that business was where my passion was for caring for people. It taught me how to advocate for people that were not capable of advocating for themselves. I was their voice and that is how I was able to earn respect with people I worked with. Today is why I am so thankful and I am able to soar in my work today.

I have always loved caring for others, even as a child. I started working in a Adult Care home in my late 20s and found my passion! I have owned 2 assisted living homes and a Senior Daycare. I have tried other occupations and have always come back to caregiving. I also work with Alzheimers and dementia patients. I am very loving, kind, and patient. I am a massage therapist/colonhydrotherapist by trade and license, and had a bustling business in Orange County, Ca from 2012-2019 when my husband and I moved to my childhood home of Tucson after he was diagnosed with cancer in December 2018. I took care of him until he passed a week after his 60th birthday in July, but found that caregiving is a natural extension of my own personality. I am 55 years old, love God above all, am very strong, clean and alert, and love my elders. I now have two part time clients, one is 96 years old and 5 short nights week from 830-11pm Sun-Thurs and from 7a-7p Saturdays; the other is an 83 year old gentleman I assist on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-4pm. I have part time hours avail Mon-Wed-Fri from let's say 11/12-5/6pm depending on where you live. When I was 27 years old my husband got a brain tumor & he became paralyzed with in 3 years. He was a smart Engineer and lost all independence. He went thru Chemo & Radiation & lost his eyesight. Helping him & my 3 kids under the age of 6 still staying loving &positive was my main goal. I tried helping them all each & every day become the best , happiest & most thankful people God created them to be. He lived 3 years & my kids are all now loving respectful adults with wonderful lives. I couldn't ask for anything more. I'd have to say this was my biggest accomplishment.

Since I was little I have wanted to become a nurse. In high school, I started out with Early Childhood Education, I have now switched over to elder care for 3 years. I have always enjoyed helping people, making them smile and making them happy. Helping people gives me joy, it's a passion. I currently work for BrightStar, doing In-Home care.
