I have always had a deep compassion for people and did volunteer work for San Diego Hospice before becoming a caregiver in 2009. I am one of 7 siblings and in 2009 took on the responsibility of overseeing the care of my elderly father. I became a caregiver to better understand his needs and he passed away in my home after 3 years. I have deeply connected with clients and their families over the years and have been asked to be with the client as they passed away because their family knew and appreciated how connected we had become.
