My name is Bernice . I am a caregiver by choice . I have been in the medical field for 30 years . In 1995 I I became a CNA and worked in every area possible allowing me to acquire skills and knowledge to broaden my career. First and foremost-it is in my nature to help people in any possible way shape or form that I am able. I have a heart especially for those that are in greater need. I cared for my "nana" for 12 years. She suffered from verbal dysplaxia, had several strokes, mild dementia and had three minor heart attacks. She also suffered from a broken hip, and was a constant fall risk. I was able to always know and feel what was needed by her, and performed whatever was necessary to make sure she was comfortable and felt loved. Before my nanas care and currently, I treat every client with the same level of loving care. I am very personable gay male. I keep a positive attitude, and I am a great listener with much attention to detail. I thrive off of seeing my clients/families and friends of clients experience an improvement in the well being of themselves or their loved ones. I am most proud of being very sought after in the caregiving business and also proud of having so many successful experiences by simply giving myself into the love and wellness for others.

I started caregiving for elderly and disabled in high school for family friends for several families . I later was a pharmacy technician for many years and worked as a care taker for several of my customers. I was chosen because I was reliable, patient and treated them like they were my family.

I'm high energy, great attention to detail, mother of 3. I've been volunteering at a VFW since the passing of my 3rd child, and am ready to get back into families and healthcare. I have Ophthalmology, Primary Care, and Behavioral Health experience. I can administer any type of injection, I can lift, I can clean, or I can just read a book to your family member if it's companionship they need. I miss helping others and seeing the love and health make people feel uplifted and positive.

It is in my nature to be a caregiver. I worked in a nursing home at age 16 . Over the course of my life I have taken care of several elderly or ill family members or patients in nursing homes . I have experience with home hospice care as I took care of my mother and father in law who both had cancer and were home during hospice. I managed ordering medical equipment , medications and facilitated making schedules and medicine regiments. To present day, I have worked for the school district (38 years) I have worked with severely disabled , Autism , Down's Syndrom, Ms , and more. Familiar with Dementia and elderly . I am a 58 year old mother of Twins who turned 24 this April. Both children live out on their own and have made me a grandmother . My son works for Kaiser call center and my daughter works at Walmart . My husband and I were both born and raised here in San Diego and reside in Lakeside nearest to Santee. My husband works as a truck driver delivering dry wall. I work in Special Education at a middle school. I love people , children and animals. I also run a small cleaning business for private homes . I have many people who can provide references to my character and skills. I pride myself in being responsible , trust worthy , punctual and caring . I love helping others.

I believe what makes me a great caregiver is that I always go the extra not just one mile but two miles just to make any client happy meaning making sure they're needs are always being met from the smallest task to a task that's challenging for them to do that they used to do. I am a happy person, have a genuine heart, trustworthy, punctual, honest, great listener, responsible, reliable, and I am a maximize. I am a self-starter if I know what's expected. I will always do things that the clients tell me I don't have to. I have the compassion, understanding; having the patience make a difference in your interaction with the client because they can feel a caregivers energy, and I personally always put out positive energy despite what mood the client may be in. You can always turn a negative interaction into a positive one just by being understanding and empathetic towards their situation. I would also make an awesome caregiver because I always put myself in their situation. I became a caregiver because I love helping the elderly and I have a compassionate heart towards them. Giving back to the elderly community due to understanding that as people age things become more challenging when it comes to getting things done, I want to make it easier on the clients that may not always have someone to assist them and make it a little easier for them to accomplish a task. Also, clients have may not someone to talk to and or eat with, etc.. and they just want a companionship, and I can be that companion for them. What I like about being a caregiver is that the clients are sweet, funny, have a sense of humor, the clients families are supportive and helpful, I like building that report with them. A personal achievement I am proud of is when a client request me and misses me when I am not there; this tells me I have built that report and I've made a positive impact on that client.
