I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for 24 years . I started as a DSP in 1996 then I went on to school to be a Certified Nursing Assistant. I work @ Memorial Hospital then I went on to work in long term facilities, Rehab, private duty, Respite care. I enjoy working with ppl especially the elderly. I enjoy listening to their stories and their past. I am a caring person and loving as well. I am dependable too.

I've been in the caregiving field for three going on four years, I truly love what I do & those I care for & those whom I'll be caring for in the future, I currently just received my CNA and will be working on my RN this fall.

I have been a live-in caregiver since 2012. I started working in a nursing home when I was 17 years old, and in 2012 I wanted to do more for the elderly, so I became a live- in caregiver so my clients could be in the comfort of their own home. Friendship and becoming a part of their family. Keeping my clients safe, and building a personal bond with them.

What makes me a great caregiver: I became a CNA at a young age, which gave me lots to learn about caring for someone that needed spezilised care. I learn how my clients like things done and I do the best I can for them. I give 110% in everything I do. Why did I become a caregiver: I became a caregiver because I realized that I could connect with the disabled or the seniors to a degree to understand what they need and how they want task completed. Its important to allow somebody to have their choice in how they live their lives. What do you like about being a caregiver: I greatly enjoy sitting down with a client and learning about how they grew up, and what they enjoyed doing with their time. Most people don't like doing the "dirty work" that comes with being a CNA but it gives me pleasure to know that I helped that person have a better day or helped them look how they would like. I enjoy boosting self-esteem because it greatly impacts how a persons health is. What is a personal achievement you're proud of: I'm proud of myself when I can handle a difficult situation that most people would give up in. I can handle stressful situations with an excellent attitude which allows me and the client to connect. I think its most important when a client trust you, it makes their day go by easier and it helps me to get to know them on a better note.

I have always had a great connection with the elderly and disabled. I have worked as a caregiver for 4 years and its the best job I've ever had. I have great people skills and I'm a great companion. I love spending time with the elderly and letting them know that someone still cares about them. I am a mom of 3 great children and I eventually hope to finish nursing school. I became a caregiver because I believe in my heart that is my purpose on this earth. I am very good at what I do and at the end of the day knowing I made someone's day a little better is the most rewarding part of being a caregiver.

I became a caregiver to help persons that need a little extra help in their lives. I enjoy working with people and it gives me satisfaction that I can be there when someone needs help. I have always loved helping the elderly or disabled and it puts a smile on my face when they want to help you do a little chore. And I can be there when no one else can be to make sure they are safe and cared for. I believe this has always been in my blood helping people I started as a candy striper at the age of 13 and have been in this field for more than 20 years. Yes, I had stepped away from it but I keep coming back to the one thing I really enjoyed and that was putting a smile on those faces even for a minute.

I was born hyperactive I think with a tendency toward being more tidy than my friends and siblings. I prefer helping people that can't do for themselves rather than those who just won't. I like talking to and learning from the previous generations' lives and ways of doing things. As far as an achievement goes I guess I'm most proud of the fact that my previous clients have called my bosses to complain about them transferring me to other areas. I have been on short times off or had clients go to warmer climates for winters and they always request for my services when they returned. I am slightly past middle age, with a good work ethic, I enjoy drawing, drama shows, bowling when time permits, and spending time with my grandkids.
