This is my 35th year as a caregiver and I believe God asked me to do as I do. I believe every single person deserves to be treated as family. One day I may need someone to take care of me and I would want the same for myself. I believe respect should be given to every person. I have extensive experience in wound care for pressure ulcers and skin disorders. I am very easy going and patient and know how to help with mobility. I see so many people that either have no one at all or have people that cannot do the caregiving. It is not for everyone. what I enjoy most about caregiving is seeing people treated with dignity and like they matter, and not a burden. I am most proud of the fact that I was able to keep my Dad at home, and let him go peacefully at home, instead if a hospital or nursing home.

Three years ago, my grandmother was diagnosed with Stomach and lung cancer. Shortly after her diagnosis, she had a stroke and was unable to do much of anything for herself. I took care of my grandparents until my grandma passed away last year. I realized that helping people was something that I really valued and took a job as CNA at the hospital and loved the work I did there. My favorite part was helping the patients to achieve things they thought that they couldn't by offering them an arm to hold onto and some encouraging words.

I became a CG at 19, when my mom was diagnosed with cancer, and I've been sitting In general since I was 13. Ever since I was small, I've known I wanted to help people, I just never knew how, until then. I have experience with post op recovery, working with Seniors who are completely immobile, those who suffer from Alzheimer's and dementia, as well as a range of other neurological diseases. I enjoy what I do, no matter how hard it can get, because at the end I know I made a difference to somebody. My favorite part of being a caregiver as well as being a nanny, it's honestly getting to know the person and knowing that their life is just a little bit easier because I've helped.

I love to care for individuals who cannot care for themselves. Caring for disabled gives me satisfaction that I have helped someone who couldn't do it themselves. I have cared for an individual who had a stroke and could not even get up by themselves. They could not cook for themselves. Gave me an honor to help them. I am a very compassionate loving person. I have a heart that goes out to help people.
