I am a people person, I worked for 30 years in a optometrist office but when my mother fail sick I quit my job to take care of her, take her to her appointments and get her meals for her and eventually I lost her to heart disease. I miss her so much every day and taking care of others seems to be such a blessing to my heart and fill me with much joy. Please allow us to become friends.

My first caretaker role was caring for my mother who had numerous health issues. I moved in and took care of her for 3 years until she passed in 2003. I then became a cna and worked in long term care facilities, which I truely enjoyed. In 2015 I returned to college and received my associates degree in Respiragory Therapy. I now work in a long term care facility caring for patients on ventilators. I am married and have 1 daughter and and a grand daughter. I enjoy spending time with my family, baking and cooking, gardening and my 2 dogs and 2 cats. Caregiving is something I have always enjoyed doing and look forward to being able to help others and their families

I was in school for nursing when my grandmother was diagnosised worth colon rectal cancer. In order for her to stay in her own home I left school and came to live with her providing 24 hour care. I was introduced to unclosed incisions, ostomy care, medical tracking, documentation, medications, dietary restrictions, bathing, dressing, and the activities of daily living. The doctor said giving her one year I turned it into four and when she died I felt the need to care for more people. Rather than returning to school I became a caregiver taking care of many people's grandmoms and grandpops. After separating an injury it took me out of the job I loved and left me at home with my children. Although this was fulfilling I missed taking care of people. Last year an old friend of mine contacted me following an accident and needed my help I came to Tennessee in order to help care for him following multiple surgeries in carting an external fixator, debridement, and rods and screws placed in the leg. Over time he developed infections in the leg and it did not heal a fact which I caught prior to the doctors ever seeing it. I've worked in order to get him better than unfortunately as a result of 12 different infections and biofilms created on the leg it is still something we are fighting to this day. But had I not been here what would have been a terrible infection would have resulted in a leg amputation or the sepsis that he has occurred twice would have killed him. I would like to find my way to other patients helping them in order to feel better in their own homes and give their families the Peace of mind of knowing that someone is with them that truly cares about them and will take good care of their families.

I took my CNA class when I was 18, after that I took a phlebotomist class ! I drew blood in the hospital along with morning rounds at the local nursing homes. I then joined the Kingsport Lifesaving crew to volunteer my time and allow myself to take more training.
