I became a caregiver first and foremost for the flexibility of the the job. When my kids were younger, this career gave me the opportunity to be home with them and work nights. I moved on to becoming an Administrative Assistant for more than 18 years. I was laid off from my job due to the last recession and I jumped back on my skills to continue giving care to the elderly. I enjoy helping the elderly in all walks of life. Some of the qualities I have are: I am compassionate, I get along with people, I am conscientious, reliable, and above all trust worthy. I was a valuable support for my clients, helping then with all the activities of their daily living, I cooked and served meals, I assisted with medications, I shopped for food and personal items, I provided transport/ accompanied clients to doctor's appointments. I was with one of my clients last year and realized that she needed to go to the hospital. I called the emergency service and stayed with her at the hospital till the family made alternative arrangement. When she was later discharged, I stayed and cared for her till she passed. I have now become a trusted friend of the family.

Being there and having served elderly people has taught me to find positive value in life and giving generously of myself. I have also learned to stay calm and reassuring in emergency situations. I strongly feel that my skill sets and my experience will surely help me excel in this service oriented job.”

I have always felt a calling and a passion for caregiving. I have over 15 years of experience providing compassionate care in Skilled and private homecare settings. I am a single mother and student at UMGC. Currently working towards a bachelor's degree in Gerontology and Aging Services and a minor in Psychology, and proudly graduating in December of 2024! From there, I plan to work towards a master's degree in Occupational Therapy. I am dedicated and dependable, and the hourly rate is negotiable depending on the level of care and time of day needed, etc.

I am a caring loyal honest person who loves people of all ages. I generate positive energy which also makes me a good fit as a caregiver. I enjoy spending time with the elderly and enjoy getting them out to shop run errands or just chat.
