What attracted me to be a caregiver was I took care of my aunt while she had cancer and I love making sure they are okay and don't feel alone. I've been a home healthcare aide for the last four years straight up to my clients recent passing. N I've worked the field in the past off n on. I love the outdoors, talking to people and listening to their stories of when they was younger, it's really interesting! I love taking care of people and helping people! When I help care for someone it makes me feel great about myself! I've done something good for someone! I first learned about home healthcare through my mother who also was a home health aide and she introduced me into the field and I loved it so much I continued on with the work! What I enjoy most being a caregiver is to spend time with my clients and getting to know them and getting to help them to do things they love to do or to be able to help them cope with anything that's bothering them. I love to keep my clients happy. The achievement I'm proud of is that once I take on a client I see them all the way through til I'm no longer needed. My last client I worked with I was with for four years until her recent passing. I do get attached even though they say your not supposed to but how can't anyone get attached to someone they cared for that long!! I care for my clients as they was my own family!! And that makes me proud of the job I do!!
