I have been doing home health care for over 20 yrs now. I love my job and what I do. If I can make someone's life easier then I know I have done my job. I Love people And not just anyone can do this kind of work. You have to have a passion for people, and that's what I have. Every client I have had love my work. I'm good at what I do because I love what I do.

I was born in Lansing MI, and at two I moved to Grand Rapids, I went to Eastern Elementary School and then to Creston High School. I took up Machine Shop and Architectural Drawing. I was the oldest of 12 children. After high school I took a Tool & Die Apprenticeship. I also worked as a volunteer for the fire department. I built a house in Sparta Township where I live with my wife. I retired from Tool Die 2010 because of cancer. Then I started volunteering at Rest Haven Homes which ended up in a paid position. I enjoy making some one happy and to do the things they enjoy and also to be a companion and a friend. I do transportation to doctor appointments, dentist appointments, shopping, movies, out to eat, visit a friend, errands, or travel, I also do in home care with dressing assistance, mobility, exercise, meal planning, and preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, etc. I have completed classes on Hospice Care, Dementia, and worked at Rest Haven Homes for 12 years, and 3 1/2 years with Leaves Personal Care.

I am an avid reader and a -new- gardener, i enjoy rainy days, the holidays, baking and air conditioning in the summer. I am very compassionate, and patient. I love caregiving because It isn't a job that is repetitive, I meet so many new faces, hear so many lovely stories, and feel the reward of showing strangers compassion as we become more than strangers throughout our time together! I was raised by my grandparents, and they would always joke with me and say "just you wait, you will be my age someday!"
