Hello, I'm Jennafer. I previously worked for a VA Medical Center as a nurses aid. I loved my job, unfortunately I moved and it was too far in distance. I am CPR certified, and have experience with most common elderly illnesses and diseases. I worked with a lot of patients suffering from either dementia, Alzheimer's, diabetes, urinary, respiratory, cardiopulmonary, restorative, and more. I absolutely enjoy making people happy and being part of people's lives, which is one reason I believe makes me great at care giving. I love to talk and companionship is a big plus for me in the healthcare field. I am very compassionate about the care I provide and I enjoy the friendships I get to make. I am always looking for ways and opportunities to better my skills and care. Just for a little extra info, I do speak some spanish, however not too fluent; I also play several musical instruments in which I got to share music with some of the residents I cared for. I am an excellent worker, friend, and companion and I hope to get the opportunity to show and express it to you and your loved one(s)!

I became a caregiver 20 plus years ago because I like working with people and I like making a difference in people's lives. it makes me really happy when I'm working with the elderly or just working with people in general when I know I make a difference in their life. I am a natural-born caregiver. Caring for others has been a skill that naturally came to me. I am fun, loving, outgoing, and have a very big heart. I enjoy meeting new people. One of my biggest reasons for being a caregiver is the satisfaction you have at the end of the day, knowing you helped another person and left a positive impact on their day.

I worked as a caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care and private caregiving for two years. I have extensive training on all senior care aspects, to include medication management and care procedures. I have cared for clients with different forms of dementia, Parkinson's, physical disabilities, and medical issues. I am familiar with personal care, end of life care, and companionship. I choose to be a caregiver because I enjoy taking care all elderly people or persons in need ,be available to help them make me happy .

My story.. When I was 14 years old my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia. She declined very fast and my grandfather (already being 76 years old) couldn't care for her on his own. So my twin brother and I moved in full time with my grandparents and helped care for her at a very young age. Soon after she passed my grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, and my family was ready to find a LTC facility (Long Term Care facility) where they could care for him. My brother and I absolutely refused the idea of him being moved out of his home he worked so hard for, so we then continued to take care of him until last year. My whole life has been dedicated to caring for other individuals. Not only do I hold myself to the highest standards of care, but I love doing what I do and show compassion at an all time high, because I put myself in other individuals shoes. This job/career will be my career for a lifetime and I am an extremely family orientated person.

I love being there for people who need day to day help whether it's just to talk or run errands .i have worked both in nursing homes as well as home care and extremely enjoy the quality time you are able to spend with ones who need help.
