I love my job, I love caring for people and I enjoy there stories, and to be there for someone knowing if it's a smile a day or week it's well worth it. To see them enjoy life. The way they should . I like being outside, shopping, cooking, learning the old ways and other peoples ways, gardening, baking, and also doing crafts.

I have been a caregiver for a few years now. In those few years, i have learned valuable lessons that will stay with me forever. Lessons taught by other staff or a patient. They can't teach you everything in a classroom, you have to learn somethings hands on, and those are the lessons I will never forget. Being a caregiver has taught me how to put others needs before my own, it has taught me gratitude and selflessness. Being a caregiver isn't about just doing your job, it's about compassion. I treat all of my clients as if they are family, because in reality they will become a second family.

I became a caregiver because I love people and I feel people should have the best quality of life in there time of need. I love to help people learn new ways of taking care of themselves so they can have the best quality of life during there illness. I love the smiles I get when I arrive to start my job , I teach and clients teach me its a fabulous feeling. I made one fabulous achievement about a year ago and I will never forget it. I started to take care of a client when the client had one amputation , it was sad but we continued to do lots of stuff I had to give encouragement everyday , Then one day the client had to have the other leg removed. At this time the client was so depressed everyday was a struggle but I told the client we can still do what we did before its just going to take a little longer the clients response was," I want to go to Kohl's shopping". I said okay we can do that let me plan it out. Guess what the client went shopping at Kohl's and went to lunch, Where there is a will there is a way. I will never forget that one month later the client passed a way but the client got the shopping trip that was thought to never happen. People told me that I would not be able to do this with this client when I did they said I was one of a kind. I said no I am not I accomplished another good deed for a wonderful person. I have worked as a nursing assistant for 15 years. I have worked for nursing homes , Hospice , and acute care for Margaretville Hospital. I am CPR cert

I've always loved helping people be as independent as possible and help them with whatever their need is. I uphold their dignity and safety as if caring for my own family and as I would want to be treated as well.

Understanding many do not think they need help for the reasoning of they have taken care of themselves for many years. I am able to let them know I am just to help with little assets. I know there are many who need full care. I here to help in away I can to make there day go as smoothly as I can. I helping others. My heart is huge when it come to love others, so if that means just to sit down and listen, needed a hug I am there. When growing up my mother was also babysitting children. So this being said I have also been around different age groups. I grow the love of being a caregiver at a young age. In which I walked into a nursing home and found my love there. There are way to many things to list what I enjoy being a caregiver. One of them is the understand family has busy life schedules and can't be right there every minute so they reach out for help. Knowing I am able to help families means a lot just taken care of there love one. my personal achievement I am proud of will knowing when I go home my job was done 110%. Knowing I did everything asked of me.

I like the field, I am always willing to meet new people. I don't like to know people are in a tuff spot when they need help, enjoy reaching out to help with basic needs. I do cleaning, shopping,bathing, cooking, I have been in classes for can, home care, this is something I enjoy doing.
