I've been a caregiver for 7 years. I started out in a nursing home, taking my CNA/STNA classes and remaimed there for 5 years. I've done home health off and on as needed. I love what I do because I get to help and care for others. This profession is very rewarding for me and teaches you many new things such as patience, time management and many many other things. I love all the stories I get to hear from clients about there pasts, and it's also great meeting new people.

I graduated nursing school in 1996. I am an RN. I have worked in the hospital setting my whole career, mostly cardiac patients. I won a trip to Disney, from my employer, for having my name mentioned the most on our patient surveys. I love taking care of my patients.

I've been a caregiver since 2005 for private and nursing facities I have my CNA license there are lapsed right now ...but I have done alot of private care and I enjoy the private care over nursing homes or hospitals because you have the time to get too know your clients and have the time to do everything for them that they need even becoming friends with them and there familys. I am a caregiver by nature, and I do work weekends now taking care of a lady in Point Pleasant. She is 94. I have a home in Greenup, KY that I'm selling, so living w my sister at this time til house sells. My whole week is free tho for another job. Weekends could be freed up too at any time. I have always been the nominated and gladly accepted caregiver in our family. From Mom and Dad w dimentia, renal transplant, dialysis travel, BS checks, and glucose as well, dressings, bathing, turning and bathing in bed, incontinence, assessment keen if any changes, dr appointments when they were able to go. 24/7 duties in my home, not at the same time. When they passed, it was what I felt I was comfortable with, so I began to apply to help other families and read up and listen for details to watch for signs , if any, of changes. I can roll, reposition, help w bedpan, and bathe in bed any patient . I love to see those smiles of thanking me when they really dont even speak much or listen and talk w our seniors and those w chronic illnesses. I was very good at dressing changes, helping to heal wounds, and keep ulcers off bony prominences, etc. Helping others comes natural to me . I think I try to be exactly what they need. The feeling of helping someone feel better is very rewarding !
