What makes me a great caregiver is I am loving, passionate and have compassion for people and their needs. I became a caregiver because I was given the opportunity to take care of my grandmother. She was my world and when she was diagnosed with liver cancer, I found my perfect world falling apart. I took care of my grandmother up until the end, and I found it very rewarding. Loving her in such a way has given me a special love for people. I love people, I love being of service to others, and do whatever I can to assist. What I like about being a caregiver is being able to give back and be of service to those who need assistance. I love being a caregiver because I meet all kinds of people from all walks of life. I am able to be in their presence and hear the wisdom that is shared. I am proud of finally achieving my bachelor degree after raising two children as a single parent. I did not allow obstacles to hold me hostage from my goals and dreams.

I worked for seventeen years as a home health care med certified caregiver , I have also worked on a critical care unit. Illiostomes, colostomies, aids patients , blood pressures ,diabetics also caring for people with physical and mental disabilities to keep them in there home . I cared for my mother while she was in my home to ensure her care was properly given until lung cancer finally ended her life . I worked 17 years as a care giver for mentally ill and mentally challenged individuals. I was med certified and still have my cpr card.

I became a Caregiver after I attended college as a Human Services student. I knew I always wanted to provide care to others and my time at college showed me I needed to pursue another direction other than college. I love caring for people, you can learn so much from them. I have met so many wonderful people and about their lives. I have done care since 1998, nursing home, assisted living and private care. I am proud when I can meet all their needs.
