After weeks of researching and discovering what is involved, I decided to try my hand at it. Boy, am I glad I did, one of the best decisions I've made! I enjoy learning my clients and listening to the many stories that come from each and every one. I can not begin to explain how the words of wisdom that I have received over the years have been quite helpful in some of my life decisions. I love what I do and my greatest achievement is seeing the smile on my clients face when I walk in the door.

When I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer (Stage 5) 6 years ago, my one and only Caregiver by the name of Barbara, was the absolute best. She took very good care of me, and was such a joy to have around. One day I told her that when I get better, I was going to become a Caregiver too because she was such an inspiration and blessing to me and my family. I am a natural born nurturer, and I love taking care of people. It gives me such a fulfillment in my spirit to know that I did something that day to make someone's life a little easier. I am proud of the fact that I was able to complete my courses to become a Certified Nurses Assistant 2 years ago, and I plan to go back to become State Tested to enhance my skills and knowledge in this particular field.

I became a Caregiver after I attended college as a Human Services student. I knew I always wanted to provide care to others and my time at college showed me I needed to pursue another direction other than college. I want to help others by providing one on one care and to enable them to be as independent as they possibly can at the same time. When I can assist people by cooking, cleaning or encouraging people it warms my heart to be able to do so. I enjoy helping others. I have professional and personal cleaning and caregiving experience.

I find such a great sense of pride in caring for people!! I am a bubbly, loving and caring person and with care taking those qualities seem to fit hand in hand. There is no better feeling than someone needing something that you can help them with. I'm very sociable and never met a stranger, as they say.

I am a very caring and nurturing person. I really enjoy helping people. I also know when to promote independence for my client. I encourage my clients to do their best. I enjoy the experience of learning how to help an individual. By doing so, it allows a bond of trust and companionship to form between my client and myself. I give 100% of my time and attention to my clients.
