I've been doing this for 29 years and I love it! I specialize In memory care however with that said I can do a lot: Skilled, rehab, quads, tub feedings ,ranger of motion , I can use both the hover and seat to stand lifts. In the beginning I wanted to go to the navy and then become a Marine biologist but I am flat footed and that stopped that and everyone in my family on my mom side is in nursing. Different levels and titles. So I gave it a shot and found I love it. They call me a lifer cuz I've been doing it for 29 years, but I enjoy it, I feel like I'm hangin with friends. The stories they tell are sad, happy, amazing...

Let me start off by telling you that this is more then a job for me. This is my passion, I love what I do. I'm from Oklahoma and while I was a CNA for 20 years in nursing homes. I've lived here in Oregon for 8 years and I've been doing Agency in private caregiving. I'm going to be doing this kind of work until my bodyno longer allows me. I never advanced to LPN or RN because I wanted to be hands on and will both of those titles puts you in paper work. Note: I'm not firm on my hourly rate.

Over the last 12 years I have gained, so much knowledge in life and in the caregiving world. I am task oriented and like to keep things tidy. I care for the health of my clients and will question when I feel something is off. I love hearing the stories of the lives of my client see their pictures and ask for their beloved memories. I am a mother and stepmother to five great kids in ages ranging 20-6. I first became a caregiver in my very early 20's and fell in love with giving real care. Not the kind of care you see in facilities, the honest to goodness care you would give your own Nana. I personally strive to never let my clients feel unloved or made to feel less than human. I want my clients to feel dignified and bright every time I leave!

I am blessed to be able to become a caregiver because I care and love the Elderly, after volunteering in Nursing Homes you see to much and hear to much, those places are a money making place you mite have one person for so long so what care will they really get, to be able to give the care they need and the love and the time they deserve Nursing Homes are not the place for the ones you Love.I am proud of myself because I am in school at the moment to become a pediatric nurse and its one of the hardest things i have done.
