I have been involved in healthcare since the age of 15 , starting as a "candy striper" volunteer and worked in many areas of the hospital until of age to work in Emergency Medicine. I have been an active EMT/ Paramedic with both volunteer and career departments and taken part in evaluating home safety checks for residents. As a healthcare professional, I have worked in various hospitals and am very knowledgeable in diseases, aging process and treatments. I have a soft heart for our Veterans with several Veteran family members. I love people and enjoy conversing with elders that have so much to share.

I consider myself a great caregiver because I go above and beyond to make sure my residence get the best care. I have a kind heart and plenty of patience and I have the desire to help those that are in need. I love to make my residence happy, comfortable and I love to see them smile. One of my personal achievements was being there by my grandmothers side while she was diagnosed with dementia and making every moment a special one.

I became a caregiver 22 years ago when (at that time) my mothers employer was looking for a 'fill-in' person. I gave it a try and absolutely fell in love with what I did! I started doing home care in June 2009 as a Nurse Assistant/ PCA , I mainly did private duty cases overnight 11pm-7am and I really enjoy it. It was hard at times but i enjoy taking care of my clients , making sure they were fed, bathed, and had a good night rest. Most of my home care clients had dementia or was recovering from surgery or some sort. I started doing homecare when i was temporary taking care of my grandmother while my parents were at work , after i graduated from high school . i would have to say that was a personal achievement of mine , to get my Nurse Assistant/PCA certification after helping caring for my grandmother.
