I have been involved in healthcare since the age of 15 , starting as a "candy striper" volunteer and worked in many areas of the hospital until of age to work in Emergency Medicine. I have been an active EMT/ Paramedic with both volunteer and career departments and taken part in evaluating home safety checks for residents. As a healthcare professional, I have worked in various hospitals and am very knowledgeable in diseases, aging process and treatments. I have a soft heart for our Veterans with several Veteran family members. I love people and enjoy conversing with elders that have so much to share.

I became a caregiver 22 years ago when (at that time) my mothers employer was looking for a 'fill-in' person. I gave it a try and absolutely fell in love with what I did! I love being a caregiver because I find great joy in helping others!! I have worked with a lot of Seniors and I have helped them to be able to stay in their homes! Hello, My name is Danielle. I've been a caregiver for 11 years and I absolutely love it. I got into the healthcare field due to my father having early onset Alzheimer's. I love the healthcare field and it has been my passion ever since. It's a career I am very proud of and take pride in.

I have 9-10 years of caregiver experience. 4 of those years are in home car, and 5/6 of those years are in a nursing home setting.

I have good personality and interpersonal traits, my expertise range from the basis of love care and support which i have done for many years in Cape Town South Africa. I was mainly attracted to become a care giver when i saw the need from seniors in South Africa who lived on their own and have to go on their own to the super market to buy food in dangerous areas where they can be mugged and have their money taken from them. I enjoy socializing with the seniors, listening to their past experiences and also learning from their sickness or illness be it diabetics or any other disease, i love learning more on how best they love to be treated. I cared for my late mother in-law who had diabetics and i enjoyed every minute of helping her to manage her sugar levels and monitoring and record keeping of all the readings. I am proud of the fact that i had this quality time to be a care giver in my home to my mother as well as to my mother in-law. I have also cared for Senator Jack Edward Jones in Harare Zimbabwe at the age of 18, i had the love to care for seniors. He had been mugged and tripped on his hip bone and underwent surgery, upon discharge from the hospital, i personally managed the care at home until he could get out of bed. I did bed baths and i loved it because i knew he cant do it for himself, then who else if i was present in the home, it had to be me.

I sincerely take great pride and joy in helping people. The elderly are very special and often are neglected sadly to say. I took care of my mom who had congestive heart failure a blood disorder until she passed. My sister was disabled due to severe depression which I helped her for many years . My husband acquired a rare cancer that required constant care and many surgeries and on time medication including narcotics that can be very dangerous if not handled properly. I enjoy getting a smile and often a laugh when possible. Everyone deserves kindness and dignity.
