I have found that my passion/calling is to care for the elderly and/or individuals, who can't do so for themselves. My heart is overwhelmed with genuine happiness when providing care and/or maintaining a personal relationship with each resident, client, and/or patient. I sincerely love fulfilling my heart's desires & passion by providing care, love, companionship, friendship, and even medical care to individuals; resulting in them having a sense of peace, as they go through life changes and having to deal with situations that may be unfamiliar. I find that doing so & providing the utmost respectful care to each of them, brings forth a growth for even myself, as I continue my education into becoming an RN (later to bridge into Nurse Practitioner). Daily, I am seeking the latest knowledge and skill so hopefully I can improve my care traits daily, to a wider/higher demand of clients. I am most definitely proud of a personal achievement in my life pertaining to my husband (who was diagnosed with late stages of Testicular cancer twice)! After receiving a prognosis of 18 months, I decided to further my education & resources, in hopes to find more options....and I did! After nearly 2 years, he is now in remission & cancer-free! This is not to boast about what I did, but instead the 'determination, drive, & passion', that I was blessed with. I will ALWAYS go above & beyond in providing the best care for clients & their family members! I believe there is always room for growth and in order to do so, you must first humble yourself to what you were called to do, whatever that may be!

One thing I've realized about working with the elderly is you have to have the heart for it. This is not a job that you just come to earn a paycheck. All of my clients and residents became so much more to me than just someone I work for. They became my family. I never had much of a family growing up. So to have a job where I can work with people that love and appreciate everything I do for them means the world to me. I love giving and helping people who can no longer do for themselves anymore. The way I look at it, I treat them how I would want to be treated if I ever end up like them. I will do everything I can to make sure your loved one feels all the love and compassion I can give them

I became a caregiver when I was 12 years old. My best friend was diagnosed with MS and MD at a very young age and she happened to be 64 years old at that time. We bonded immediately and talked daily. One day we were attending our weekly meeting at our place of worship and her usual caregiver could not be found. She needed help going to the restroom, I volunteered to help and I did everyday until her death at the age of 69 on January 31, 2013. I am blessed to have had the greatest connection and friendship that guides me in everything I do. She was a supernatural, phenomenal woman . She taught me how to smile, be kind and to love unconditionally. She is the reason my kindness never fails or crumbles. I am proud that over the years I have made many more friends and have learned such valuable lessons by just listening and observing my elders.

I have been a certified nursing assistant for 3 years. I became a a caregiver because I love helping others. I have a heart of gold. At the end of my day it feels good to be able to say helped someone an they was taken care of the way I would expect my family to be cared for. I treat everyone as if they are my own family. I love being a caregiver, I enjoy the time, conversations, experiences, rewards(not from the families,from God). I appreciate families entrusting me with their families to love them like my own and care for them. If mama is mad and sees something out of the window, well I am too, we need to check it out. And if daddy wants to be outside hollering at them youngins we will. In all seriousness, I love elderly people , bless them if we are lucky enough we will be like that one day too. Oh and I can cook, clean, my 77 year old mother raised me well. God bless
