Before starting my business 2 years ago, I was a Certified Nursing Assistant for 2 years in a local skilled nursing facility. I still hold my certification and absolutely love working with seniors. I cared for and specialized in residents with dementia and mostly worked in the dementia unit of the facility I was in. I treat all my residents with the same love and care that I would my own family. I have been a caregiver or certified nurse aide for many years. I like the job because I get to work with a variety of people with varied backgrounds. I like giving good care and making people happy and feel better. Being a CNA allowed me flexibility to work and raise my children. At many jobs I was promoted to shift lead or other positions.
