What i like the most about caregiving is the ability to treat those as I would want myself to be treated in time of need. I find that with compassion, good listening skills and trying to understand and empathize with my clients not only does my client feel loved but learn that they can work towards a goal, increase their independance or have one that will help meet my clients needs . I find it extremely rewarding personally and always find new friends and family along this path.

My motto is always treat client the way I would want my parents or myself treated.Respect the fact I am in their home and include family members in care decisions. I wanted to be a nurse from time I was 8 yrs old and soon as I finished high school went into medical profession and feel I have a positive and compassionate personality . I have over 40 years experience with many letters of reference and awards as a caregiver such as employee of month/year. I love caring for others especially dementia/Alzheimer's as my grandfather was such a person 40 years ago. I love giving people a chance at a Good quality of life no mater what their diagnosis,Hold the hand of a person as they are slipping away and being a comfort to their family because caregiving is caring for family as well in being supportive. I remain like family to all my past clients family. My best achievement is making a time in someone's life which is hard better because I was there. I have 20 + years Professional CNA work in Ft. Myers and Islands & Beaches areas, including as a Team Manger. My experiences in Home Health also started in Ohio. My skills are vast and inclusive to ADL's, dementia, Special Diets ( ie -FODMAP) and more. I'm fully licensed, insured, previous ACHA background check, CEU's, and have many references. I'm used to personal referrals but also have been on the F.I.S.H. Services Caregiver List- a United Way Credited Agency providing leads and connections to residents and 'Snowbirds', throughout the Islands (Sanibel/Captiva), and in earliest days did work through other agency referrals. Relocated-- I am a Survivor of Hurricane Ian in Ft. Myers, Ft. Myers Beach, last year, Sept 2022. I was drawn to the Ocala area through a friend/associate offering respite or whatever I needed and became enthused by it all here. I'm now a homeowner so have been busy with early repairs, upkeep and then a new roof. As one of the oldest of seven children, care giving was part of my life skills, with the interest in growth, development, and life enrichment. We all get to learn about each other; points of view, history, limitations as well as strengths and become better individuals as a result. Personally, I feel the need for more focus on caring for those who are in your own neighborhood, that makes it a personal commitment and I have pursued that philosophy throughout my life. I became a caregiver because my great-grandparents were sent to nursing home when I was a teenager to recuperate after a car accident. My great-grandfather never left that home. He quickly deteriorated due to insufficient care. The lack of care or concern coupled with the biggest bed sore in just a matter of weeks stays in my mind to this day. This is where my journey in patient care began. I became a candy striper and volunteered in hospitals and nursing homes. I like being a caregiver because I have an enormous heart and an abundance of patience. I never tire of the same story being repeated. I am interested in what my patients are thinking and want to hear their opinions. I strive to make patients comfortable and at ease with me. I am helpful and kind no matter what the mood of the day is. I welcome the good days as well as the bad days. Being dependable is crucial to offering patients a happy and safe life and I take that responsibility seriously. I want my clients to live with their dignity intact. I will be respectful to your home and have no objections to video's or Nanny cams. Please feel free to protect your loved ones. My proudest achievement is my son Victor. Alone, relying on hard work and being independent I was able to avoid public assistance. I am very proud of that, it was tough, but we made it. July 18, 2011 My son and I were baptized together. My last case before I relocated back to Florida lasted three years. I felt a great sense of pride when I left knowing that I made a big impact in her recovery. I know she was able to reclaim her independence.
