I have been providing care to individuals in my community for over 22 years. I feel blessed to have been able to provide care to individuals with care until their last moment on earth. Each person has made a large impact on my life. Some families have been my family for many years because of the connection of the person I provided care for. I have worked with individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and dementia.

I became a caregiver because I had always wanted to be a nurse when I was younger. Also, my best friend/sister-in-law became very ill at an early age and I had wanted to take care of her but never got the chance as she passed away at age 44. My mom also became ill shortly thereafter and I promised that she would never go to a nursing home. My intention was to care for her in my home, but unfortunately she never made it home from the hospital. I vowed that if I could not help my own family then I would help someone else. I love being able to help people stay in their homes as long as possible and having the family reassured that their loved ones are being cared for in their absence. My personal achievements that I am proud of are being with two of my clients until the end of their life and knowing that I made things a bit easier for their families. As for myself, I am the mother of four sons and grew up with five older brothers.
