Hello! My name is Desiree and I have been caregiving professionally since 2008 beginning with my cousin with developmental disabilities. My first job after high school was housekeeping in nursing home and hospital and I always found myself trying to interact with the clients, whether it just be conversations or pushing them back to their rooms after meals. I have mostly worked in CILA homes taking care of the developmentally disabled and I absolutely enjoyed every moment and every prrsonality I ever met! Never a full moment, I began as a DSP and was a house manager for the same company. I have also worked some side jobs taking care of the elderly, a couple until they passed, and another until she just didn't need the extra help Amy more. I have wanted be a caregiver for as long as I can remember, I had a grandpa that had lost both legs, one due to a stroke and the other because of Gangrene. My grandmother need a lot of help with him from changing diapers to helping with feeding once he got a feeding tube, and I was always their! I don't feel like myself unless I'm helping someone else live their best life!

I'm a quick learner. I like to pay attention to the person I'm caring for so I know their likes and dislikes as well as their wants and needs. I love being able to make a difference in someone's life as well as being the person they can count on. A lot of times, the caregiver is the family they need and I make sure I'm keeping them taken care of in every way I can. I'm proud of being able to care for the ones that need the extra help and care.

I have been doing this for years since 1999. I have worked as a home health aide, cna and mental health technician. I'm compassionate, have patience and dependable. I enjoy helping others do what they can't do for themselves. I think just meeting peoples' needs. You leave and the people feel like they have been treated with dignity. Their needs are met, they're comfortable or as comfortable as you can help them become.

So I have worked As a home care aide For 16 yrs. I have done everything from cleaning and cooking, bathing, meds, laundry, shopping and taking them to doctors appointments. I am now a resident assistant and I do laundry, meal reminders, meds, and shower. I love being able to take care of people. I'm kind, Patient, and out going.

I would be a great caregiver for you and/or your family member. I am a nursing student with extensive medical training and I come with BLS and first aid training. I was also a pharmacy technician for over 10 years so you would never have to worry about medications being forgotten or mixed up. I am college educated, very quick witted and love to listen to people's stories. I believe that someone's story contains the essence and strength of their character.

I've always enjoyed taking care of other people. It makes me happy to give back to the community and take care of my elders. I enjoy getting to know my patients and taking care of their needs. My proudest achievement is raising my four girls on my own.
