Hello my name is Joy Martin and I'm a native of Paducah, Ky. I have been providing good quality care to patients for 11years. I have assisted patients with ADL's,feedings,transfers, ect according to their care needs. I believe in showing compassion in what I do and also treating patients with dignity and respect. What attracted me to being a caregiver is that the pase is a little slower compared to nursing home. I enjoy that being one on one as a caregiver,it allows me to get a chance to really get to know my patients. I'm currently furthering my education in getting my LPN.

Something I've always took pride in is how caring I am towards people. I have always been empathetic and really dive in to conversations with people too get to know them. I am compassionate. I have always been a team player but I also believe in being a leader. I've put a lot of thought into being a healthcare worker, because it is not an easy job. But I've also thought about how many people need help in being cared for. I love the job that I do. I believe the most personal achievement I am proud of is getting so close to my patients. I've connected with a lot of people. I remember I had a patient that I took care of for almost a year and I really connected with her. After some time she got really sick and was soon going to pass. I met her family and asked them if I could sing to her and they let me ( I sang to her a lot). Little did I know that they were not going to be able to have a service for her. When we were done singing and praising they all just cried and thanked me. They told me that they weren't going to be able to have service and it was as if God brought the service through me as a vessel. I believe that was my greatest accomplishment in this job.

I'm 23, I have 4 little ones that I absolutely love and adore! I help take care of my nanny and grandmother who both have went through major surgeries and needed assistance!

I feel I am a great care giver because I love to help people and build relationships with them to know how to handle situations and know what they like so I can help them to the best of my advantage.

I've got the biggest and kindest heart especially when it comes to caring for the elderly or people who just need a little extra help

Started volunteering for Hospice when my mom was working for them when i was about 12 yrs old. Became very close with one woman that was on and off of Hospice for years, when she was coming to the end i went and moved in with her and her daughter to help with her care. After she passed away I went to CNA classes and was determined to give everyone the same type of love and care that i gave that woman and the peace of mind i gave her daughter.
