Became a caregiver to care for my Father in Law, Hospice trained me and he originally stayed in my home 5 months before passing at 92 years old. Since that time I've stayed with individuals and couples in different settings with different medical conditions. I am empathetic , happy Christian woman; enjoy helping others-giving. Very sociable, dependable and caring. Love reading & cooking, If I can make a difference in the life of a loved one, then I have fullfilled my job duties:))

I've been a cna for 18 yrs and before that I was a pcs so I've been in Healthcare for a while .I've done alot of in home care also.

First, I have worked in nursing facilities for about 8 years, earlier in my working history "2000-2008". Taking care of the elderly has been a great passion of my mine. In addition to that, I also take of my father and Mother at home until their death. Second, being a caregiver is a gift from God, so helping out the elderly is what we are called to do on this earth. it's a calling that I take very seriously in making them feel loved and appreciated. thirdly, what I enjoy both is the smile on their faces when they're loved. fourthly, the achievement that I am proud of is being able to make God proud in doing the gift he so graciously allowed me the have for the elderly.

I'm always on time an always show up I love to help take care of people an love to interact with new people I love to help even if it's just cooking a meal or folding laundry or even washing dishes I have worked with people who have alzheimers and dimensions for over a year an it can be challenging at times but I put my 100 percent in to taking care an helping them I always ho beyond for my residents an love what I do I'm verry nice an loveing

I possess several important personality traits and experiences that contribute to my role as a caregiver. Some common personality traits include compassion, empathy, patience, and the ability to establish trust. These traits enable me to connect with and understand the needs of the individuals I care for, allowing me to provide emotional support and maintain a positive environment.

What makes me a great caregiver would have to be my patience, compassion, consideration, empathy, attention to detail and my love for others. I treat others with the same respect that I would want. My mother was diagnosed with a savvier disorder for sleep apnea when I was only 4. 3 yrs later she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, nerve damage then formed from diabetes as well as sugar issues. 5 months later she was then diagnosed with lupus. She also had a fluid disorder, arthritis, obesity, blood disorder (polycythemia vera), She was never diagnosed but we believed she had formed dementia 1 yr before her death. I took on the responsibility of taking care of her at 17. When I was 18 she had to undergo a thrombectomy (surgery to remove blood clots). She had 1 1/2 gallons removed. When she came home I was her caretaker/caregiver for her surgery recovery. I took her to and from her appointments, helped her bath, fixed her meals, administered her medications and kept up with her medications and ran her errands. I would have to say this as well as the job I worked as a health aid has attracted me to be a great caregiver. I have also dealt with and still deal with epilepsy, My sister and my aunt have grandma seizures, my cousin has pseudoseizures ( not epileptic they are emotion stress induced). What I most enjoy is the one on one bond that you gain from the resident you are caring for. This type of job gives someone a nice sense of respect, It helps one gain more knowledge and helps family's in need of help to get that help. It takes a lot for someone to leave there loved one with a stranger, I gain a sense of respect and honesty to be trusted with this individual. A personal achievement that I am proud of would have to be taking care of my mom as well as being there for my sister, aunt, and cousin. There is a lot of health problems in my family and I am proud that I am the one that is able to help them.
